About the Artist:
I was born in Beaufort, South Carolina, raised in the suburbs of Denver, Colorado and attended college at Creighton University in Omaha. Completed a premedical education there with a BS in Biology. Medical school was completed at the University of Colorado. Took a number of fine art courses. Art creation placed on hold through medical school, resumed in residency and into the present.
Had been drawing since childhood. My twin brother and I would go through numerous amounts of scratch paper brought home by my architect father. My brother and I collected bugs, grew plants. In childhood, my brother and I created a number of wood crafts. My interests led to my vocation.
Much of the artistic interest was likely inherited from my father. My father continues to be gainfully self employed nearly full time as an architect at age 73. His business slogan is "A question of balance", one that is worth carrying on, as it is aptly descriptive of my approach to artwork as well. I've been airbrush painting for about 8 years. I've been sculpting stone for about 5 years.
I've always had an interest in the workings of living creatures since childhood. I continue to be awestruck by the diversity and beauty of nature.
